Interview: Scott McClellan and Marc Ginsberg

Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan caused shockwaves with his criticism of George Bush in his memoirs. Marc Ginsberg was the US Ambassador to Morocco. Both talk to James Silver about controversy and the US presidential campaign.


James Silver James Silver is a feature-writer and interviewer, who specializes in the media, politics and society. His journalism has appeared in a range of publications including, most regularly, The Guardian, as well as The Independent, The Evening Standard, The Observer, The Independent on Sunday, The Times, BBC News Online, Sky News Online and Total Politics magazine, to which he is a contributing editor. His interviewees include Clive James, Watergate legend Carl Bernstein, CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Piers Morgan, Richard & Judy and Jeremy Kyle. From 1995-2002, he worked for the BBC, making both ‘live’ and recorded national radio programmes. He has presented more than 50 documentaries for Radio 4, 5 Live, the World Service and American Radio Works, also reporting for Radio 4’s File on Four, Profile, Crossing Continents and From Our Own Correspondent. In 2000, he was part of the team which won the Sony Gold Award for News. His interviewees for BBC radio include authors Norman Mailer, Jonathan Franzen, Ian Rankin and Irvine Welsh, and film directors Cameron Crowe, Michael Mann and David Fincher. He has adapted his first novel for young adults, The Gawk Parade, for the screen, and is currently working on two more novels for younger children, The Ballyhoo Egg and The Adventures of Zook.
